Vogue Conde Nast Summer Intensive Final Project 2023

In July 2023, I went to London to study at Condé Nast to earn a Vogue certificate in Fashion Media. This course included education on Fashion Journalism, Trend Forecasting, Social Media Strategy and Content, Visual Communication, and Fashion Ethics. We had weekly workshops, lectures, and seminars from industry professionals and renowned academics. For the certificate, we were put into groups of five to create a proposal for British Vogue’s September Edition.

Final Presentation PDF

As the appointed Managing Editor of this project, I took on the challenge of formatting and designing the final presentation. Here is the official presentation.

For this project, I was named the "Managing Editor" by my team of five. I lead my team in an organized manner, sought to amplify each team member's talents, and created a safe environment for creativity to thrive. At the end of the course, the course leader and another grading member of the faculty pulled me aside to commend my leadership abilities and the work that I did on the course.

The overall theme we chose “Age of Change” touches on the changes we’ve seen and continue to see in the fashion industry, social dynamics, politics, beauty standards, entertainment, etc.

 

For our Mock Vogue Cover, my team and I chose Sofia Coppola.

 

Sofia Coppola felt extremely relevant to this theme of “Age of Change” as she is a symbol of change in entertainment as a female film director in a primarily male-dominated industry.

Part of a directing legacy, Coppola's most recent endeavor is the film “Pricilla”; a movie based on Priscilla Presley’s memoir, coming out this autumn.

As our alternate cover star, we chose Emma Chamberlain. We chose Emma Chamberlain because she is the face of the influencer age.

 

Emma is the self-made sensation who revolutionized the influencer archetype. From a teenage YouTuber to a global icon, she has reshaped how we perceive celebrities. Breaking barriers with authentic content, Emma's ventures in fashion, collaborations with big brands, podcasts, coffee, and more have placed her at the forefront of the new digital generation. Her journey exemplifies the power of genuine connections and fearless self-expression, making her an unparalleled force of change in the digital age.

For our project, we did two photoshoots. One was our "classic shoot", pictured on the right, and was our spin on the classic item, the trench coat. The second shoot was our "still life shoot" and we chose a Dior mini purse in a retro setting. Both shoots were conducted at Conde Nast School of Fashion & Design.
